Repurposed Tshirts into Baby clothes

Earth Day is just around the corner so I thought I would put together a re-purposing round-up. You find so many amazing and creative ideas on Pinterest on how people have transformed one useless item into something new and fantastic.

So here are 10 ideas of how you can turn your old t-shirts in cute and adorable baby items and clothes:

I absolutely love this dress with braided collar. You can find the step by step tutorial on how to make this cute dress on MakeIt-LoveIt.com including the braiding of the collar.

These DIY Upcycled Knotted baby hats from Alice & Lois are just precious - not to mention practical. And she jazzed them up by adding an applique. These would have been perfect when my kids were younger as the baby hats I found were usually too small for my big headed babies.

I love this stuffed bunny made from old menswear. You can find the tutorial to make this from Martha

You can find a detailed tutorial on how to make this romper on the Seamery - Now you can create cute rompers out of your favourite old ts someone shrunk in the wash - I can't be the only one guilty of this can I?

And whoever seems to have enough bibs? Here are some cool ones she made from Daddy's old shirts - which you can find on  Lu Bird Baby

I love baby skirts, and you can find this cute skirt and tights combo on Maker*Land who also has a ton more great ideas for repurposing kids outfits.

The tutorial on Natural Violet to make a reusable diaper from an old tshirt is such a great idea! And is also great because people spend $200 on purchasing cloth diapers at the store and then change their mind - so this would be a much cheaper alternative if you wanted to try them out.

I love these rockin' baby gowns from this mama makes stuff complete with the flip over mittens! Because those little mittens always fall off. The perfect gift for newborns.

These DIY jersey headbands from Kelli Murray are absolutely adorable! I love cute little headbands for baby girls - also great because people can never seem to figure out if a newborn is a baby girl or boy - especially when wearing yellow.

Check out this great burp clothe tutorial from Made by Rae - okay she uses single layer gauze for the front and old tshirts for the backing but you could probably use a tshirt for the whole thing if you can find some cute patterns.

Did you make or find other repurposed items that you think should be on the list? Or did you have a favourite? Would love to hear it.

  2. These ideas are so cute! We're expecting our first little one in September. I'd love to make a few of these for him or her! Thanks for sharing your ideas! Stopping by from the Frugal Friday Link Up! :)

  3. My wife and I were amazed that you were able to make these things out of regular t-shirts! We're pretty big fans of the skirts you made. However, we're in the same boat as Marina: we're not talented enough to do these things. We still want our kids to look really cute, so we may look into getting some personalized t-shirts. Hopefully we can get some shirts as cute as what you created! Thanks for the post, Kristen! http://www.kitsel.com/what-is-a-cool-baby-t-shirt/
